Freezer Meals

Well I did manage to rearrange things from my last post - so I can at least get into the craft room. It is still a long way off yet. I have heard so much about freezer meals lately so I decided to check it out. Several blogs and recipes later (plus ordering books from the library) I have given it a try. So far I have made several batches of: Chili, Meatloaf, Hamburger Patties, Sheperd's Pie and will be making up the shredded chicken and shredded beef tomorrow in preparation for sandwiches, stews, hot sandwiches and rolls. I managed to get my hands on a Bisquick recipe for mini chicken pot pies that you can freeze. (Definitely trying that one) It said that you can put whatever filling you like into the bisquick, divide it into muffin tins and bake. Let cool, wrap, then freeze. Ready and waiting for those quick meals. I can see the Bisquick mini pizza pies already. Yum!

Organizing HELP!!!!

It has been awhile since I posted/ blogged. I seem to be in a haze this time around and no sign of it letting up. I have been trying desperately to get some resemblance of an organized craft room since moving it from the room upstairs to the space downstairs but to no avail. It just does not work - even though my fantastic hubby built a whole wall of shelving for me. I managed to fill all of them and have a ton more of stuff that is in piles around the room. Help me please! I don't know where to start or what to do. I tried to get containers that would fit on the shelves but they don't stack well or even look good. Waaaaaa! It sounds like I am complaining... and I am. There are no little elfs or fairies that will come and do it for me. I thought of throwing an organizing party but we have 3 cats and 2 dogs, so no one I know that is available is not allergic to animals. This makes it very complicated to have friends over for any reason.  Ideas would be appreciated!!! Please do not tell me to get rid of my 4 legged children. Also it is a small 10 x 9 foot room with a large window on one wall. (aka the dining room).

It's done!

Yippy the outside of my house is done and the guys are gone. We have received so many complements since the work began. The guys did such a great job and they certainly have alot to smile about. I thought that I would have to paint the new window trim inside, but Kevin who is a sweetheart, did it all for me as part of their cleanup. I just have to paint the front railing around the porch. It looks like it will rain today so that will have to wait. So five new windows, 2 windowed doors, inside trim, and vinyl siding all around the house, 4 guys and 11 days and it is finished. What a feat!

What do you think - looks good yes?

Now - new side step, paint the porch floor and stairs, drywall 4 rooms, redo the back deck and voila - a brand new looking house. Not bad for being built in 1847. Oh and the beautiful large open space behind the house, what a view. I am loving it!

Taking shape

Well - the house is coming along nicely as you can see. A few more good days and the outside will be done.
The sun was shining earlier in the morning that one of the guys putting up the siding asked if we had a pair of sunglasses. The bright white off the siding was actually hurting his eyes.

Smile like your guilty! My house is almost done outside.

Almost there!

It has been almost a solid week that the guys have been working away. Most of the windows are in and it is starting to take shape. So many people have commented on how much difference it makes the house look.

Smile like your guilty! Tomorrow more pics.

Disappointed in Nova Scotia

Hi all,

Well I am disappointed but not discouraged. I did not get the job that I interviewed for. Oh well life goes on right? Bigger and better things await. I had been so tied up with doing research and creating a webpage that I forgot to blog. I guess it is their loss as I was almost completely absorbed in fundraising ideas, the webpage and how I could achieve a self sustaining result for that place. I actually think that I came up with the answers and now they will never know. At some point - you just have to say - f it. All the information that I have gathered for fundraising might come in useful to another position so I will keep it under wraps until then.

Smile like your guilty! I still have the library.
